Citizens Advice Essex is pleased to be partnering with Macmillan Cancer Support, to provide a specialist welfare benefits advice service to help more people in Essex cope with the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis.

We can help with:

Understanding what benefits you may be entitled to
Including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance, and Carer’s Allowance.

Helping you complete benefit applications
We guide you through the process, helping you fill in forms accurately to give you the best chance of success.

Challenging benefit decisions
If you've been refused a benefit or awarded the wrong amount, we can help you ask for a reconsideration or appeal.

Advising on grants and other financial support
Including Macmillan grants to help with extra costs like travel to hospital, heating, clothing, or special diets.

Support for carers and family members
We can advise on Carer’s Allowance and other help available if you’re looking after someone with cancer.

Explaining how benefits affect your finances
Including help with managing changes in your income, housing costs, or employment.

Liaising with other services
We can help you access support from other agencies, charities, or local services that can assist during your cancer journey.
